Morningside families and friends are invited to attend Dia de los Muertos at the Morningside Community Center on Saturday, November 2.
ABOUT Dia de los Muertos
In Mexico, Dia de los Muertos is an opportunity to say goodbye and remember loved ones who have died. It’s also a way to celebrate and connect with family and friends by telling stories, making art, and eating good food together.
The event is free to attend and open to all ages. The event features Mexican traditions, including an interactive Pittsburgh-themed ofrenda. Participants can look forward to face painting, art-making, talking with Yinzers Unidos Spanish language group, and receiving resources from Pittsburgh Community Deathcare. Artwork from Ricardo Solis will be available for purchase, as well as food from La Palapa Mexican food truck and coffee from Ka-Fair coffee shop.
To volunteer before or during the event, please contact Bethany Narajka or Yazmin Tapia-Martinez.
